Despite the fact children enter this world weak and helpless, the Creator designed it so they would be raised by two loving parents: one of each gender so the child would learn from, and relate to, both. With little effort, these two adults are emotionally bonded to their child and will unselfishly, and even sacrificially, protect and serve her every need. But, what if it doesn’t happen?
The natural order provides additional support by an extended family. All kinds of resources are there for the young parents. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and even siblings, can serve as a second layer of protection and care. But, what if that doesn’t happen?
God would then have the Church fill the need. It not only contributes religious instruction and moral support to the family, but also steps in during times of real need with extra resources and assistance. The Church serves as an important third layer of care around those children who are lacking full support from the first two.
Take Away: Church is another form of family.
