A closer scrutiny of our story, however, we readily conclude that even our victories are forged from the fires of defeat. Paxton Hood said, “Great thoughts, discoveries, inventions have generally been nurtured in hardship, often pondered over in sorrow, and established with difficulty.”
Finally, the last chapter of our story closes. A doxology is sung, a benediction is pronounced. All we have ever learned, all we have ever done, everything we have ever accomplished, is bound together and shelfed with a million others. Few, if any, will read it and learn from our lesson in humility.
Take Away: Every life story is a lesson in humility.
