Rude drivers. Cream corn. People who talk too much. Paper cuts. Bug bits and sunburns. The bathroom scale when I weigh too much. Bad customer service. Toothaches and stomachaches. Disrespectful children. Spoiled pets. Being told to wait. These are just a few of the things I hate.
Everyone has their own list of the things they like, and the things they don’t. There really is no accounting for taste. Most of the items on our lisst, though, don’t matter. They are not the real issues of life. Most of what we love or hate doesn’t follow us into eternity, and that’s a healthy perspective to have. In the end it is our relationship with God and others that do matter most.
Take Away: The things that matter most are not things.
