For example, children need appropriate physical contact but everyone is now scared to hug or even touch them. Children need loving discipline and correction but everyone is now afraid to set limits, to say no and really mean it. Children need to learn morality but everyone is now anxious of offending those who aren’t. This is crazy.
Raising children isn’t easy. But it isn’t hard either. By that I mean that raising children isn’t that complicated. Yet somehow we have been sold a bill of goods. We’ve been convinced that meeting the needs of children is so complex that it should be left up to the professionals, to government authorities, and to those with specialized degrees.
Listen, don’t buy that lie. Common sense, prayer, and unconditional love will suffice.
Take Away: Raising children isn’t easy. But it isn’t hard either.
