Great question. Perhaps the greatest tragedy is that these childhood wounds lie dormant, just underneath the surface for years, even decades. They never completely go away. But they can be repurposed. There is a popular saying, “Time heals all wounds.” But that’s a lie. Time can’t heal anything. Only the sacrificial love of an almighty God, can heal. Through Christ I found the healing needed to mature and repurpose the pains of my past. Until then, all I had was Band-Aids to mask the pain.
But let me be clear. The healing I found in Christ came through professional help. Counseling was the catalyst, and I strongly recommend everyone seek professional Christian counseling who has the kind of trauma we are talking about here.
Take Away: Through Christ I found the healing needed to mature and repurpose the pains of my past.
