Hamilton was born to a mother living with one man, but married to another, who had previously been imprisoned for adultery. His father went bankrupt and abandoned the family. His mother died from a tropical fever when he was eleven. His grandmother, uncle, and aunt soon died in close order.
Fortunately for Hamilton, who worked hard and could write well, his talents were recognized by local people who helped to take care of him and donated the necessary funds to send him to college. Again, his story is not unlike the youth we serve. It’s because of donor support that we are able to minister to hurting children and families. Who knows, your donations may just be helping the next Alexander Hamilton!
Take Away: Whatever is done for a child is never wasted.
