First: Evil is real. Evil is more than the lack of good. It’s more than being really bad, or really wrong, or really unlucky, or really anything other than really evil. Evil is a category in and of itself, a powerful force unleashed upon all things, everywhere. Nothing, and no one, escapes its reach. But, it’s not absolute or eternal.
Secondly: Don’t tempt evil with weakness. Evil is a commanding force, but not as authoritative as goodness and love. Evil prospers in places of physical, mental, moral, and spiritual weakness. There’s a saying, “the only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing.”
Thirdly: Evil will show up whatever we do. Evil will test the boundaries of our commitments and the strength of our resolve. Some time or other, the winds of evil will batter against our houses until it finds weakness. We can overcome it through the victorious power of unarmed goodness and unconditional love.
Take Away: Evil prospers in places of physical, mental, moral, and spiritual weakness.
