CHRISTIAN: This should go without saying but ministry to children should be thoroughly Christ-centered. The single greatest need of any child is faith in Jesus. There are many good and positive things that groups and individuals can do for children that don’t necessarily have to have anything to do with Christianity.
Recreation, for example, has value in and of itself. Yet, the one thing a church, or ministry minded group, can do for children that they cannot get anywhere else is knowledge of, and relationship, with the Savior. He is the ultimate rescuer of lives. Introducing children to Jesus is the best gift we can give them. However, if we simply focus on that, and not attempt to meet their other needs, we most likely will fail at both.
