Over time, congregations started serving a particular model of doing church, and drifted away from the unique call of being the church. I firmly believe the single greatest issue in our world today is not hunger or homelessness. It’s not child abuse or bad schools. It’s not the breakdown of the family, the scourge of drugs, or fatherlessness. It’s not even crime or terrorism. While those things are horrific problems, none of them are the problem.
The single greatest need in the world is for the church to be the church again. If I was granted the power to just fix one thing in this broken world, I would use it to correct the mission drift of the Church. Everything else is merely a symptom of a church off mission.
Take Away: The single greatest need in the world is for the church to be the church again.
