Harry Truman had a sign on his desk that read, “The buck stops here.” F.D.R. held the nation together with his words, “There is nothing to fear but fear itself.” Dwight D. Eisenhower once said, “A people that values its privileges above its principles soon loses both.” And we will never forget President Kennedy’s challenge to the nation with his inaugural words, “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.”
In good times and especially in bad, we look to our Presidents for leadership. We remember and honor those who provide it and we tend to forget the ones that don’t. May God richly bless the United States of America and may He guide the one we elect to lead us.
