The bad news is no one seems to really know why. Some experts think the numbers are simply returning back to a more normal rate after an unexplained high. Others believe the states are doing a better job of diverting the young offenders to alternative programs. No one really knows for sure.
I think the cause could be attributed to something entirely different. I believe it may have to do with the rise of social media and video games. With the surge of electronic entertainment, youth are simply not out in public as they used to be. Idleness is the devils workshop. I’m just not sure that the new found source of activity is really any better.
Take Away: We may have fewer juvenile delinquents because they have turned into electronic zombies.
