I wanted my children to remember that I love them and that they should never, ever, doubt it. That simple single word provided them with security and confidence as they launched out further and further from my presence. They could fail or mess up but it would be okay because my love for them is always unconditional.
But it also served to keep them from temptation. I knew that my children would inevitably be drawn to do something they shouldn't. It was at those times I especially wanted them to remember that they were loved.
