Seems to me I’m not alone. There is a growing number of folks whose inner, quiet, desperation is becoming a deafening noise of chaos and dysfunction. But, it doesn’t have to be that way.
Whether a person’s desperation is contained inwardly, or outwardly on full display for all to see, there is a peace which one can possess that surpasses all understanding. It doesn’t matter if a person’s desperation is quiet or loud, there is a place of rest for any, and all, who seeks it. Thoreau didn’t know that Christ followers are not most people. We have calmed our quiet desperation by the desperate pursuit of God’s presence.
Take Away: Christians are not most people.
