They were imperfect men, living in an imperfect age. Their incredible intellect and forward thinking had limits defined by the flawed “cultural contract” of their generation. They never set foot in the Promised Land as we know it today. They did though take the first steps out of the land of serfdom.
We are the inheritors of a precious, but unfinished gift. I pray and work, as generations before me, for the day my children and grandchildren will completely crossover to that place the ancients only imagined. It’s truly remarkable that a population of less than a million people produced individuals the likes of which we have rarely seen in since they walked this earth?
Take Away: We are living a precious gift.
