Did you know, for example, that for the price of one prison cell, we can send 20 kids to college? Did you know, that for the price of one more police officer on the street, we can put 20 kids in Head Start? Did you further know, that for the price of putting one family on welfare and food stamps, we can give 20 kids tutoring and job training?
Seems to me that our priorities are skewed. An ounce of prevention will always accomplish more than a pound of intervention. Dear friends, if we really want the next generation to be productive, well-adjusted, and kind, we must invest in our children and youth today. We can either pay it now or pay it later. I would rather pay it now.
Take Away: We can either pay it now or pay it later.
