“No adults with children under three years of age will be admitted to “R” rated movies.”
Wow, really? We are in big trouble as a society if we have to start giving common sense instructions like that to parents. Violence, profanity, and sex are not suitable content for children, especially small children. Seems to me, parents ought to know that already.
But here is the kicker. The notice was not posted, as I first assumed, to protect the innocence of the preschoolers but rather to protect the viewing pleasure of the other movie goers who often complain about crying children. Small children apparently get easily bored or scared at adult themed movies and become a distraction. What a shame.
The whole rating system was designed to protect children from viewing content not suitable for their young impressionable minds. But apparently the only way to protect these children from harmful sights and sounds is to start complaining to the theater management.
