Because of this truth leaders must make sure that they have a certain level of healing and wholeness in their own lives before attempting to lead others. If they don’t, they will attract others with the same pains, wounding, and character deficits. Given enough time, organization will start to look and behave like the leader.
Without some degree of healing and wholeness leaders are putting themselves and the organizations they lead at risk. Trauma, abuse, and past conflict can skew how a leader interprets the world and deals with others. No one is exempt just because they are the boss. So be sure you are the kind of person you would want be on your team or in your organization.
