During these cold dark days of winter I can’t help but think about the homeless and those living in shelters, especially the children. I can’t help but think of those who can’t pay their heating bills. I can’t help thinking about those who are without jobs, are hungry, or don’t have decent coats. I can’t help think of the elderly who are shut in and isolated.
Please consider helping out the ministries and programs in your area that serve those most affected by the harsh elements of winter. Give your time and resources to your local food bank or shelter. Perhaps your church has a benevolence ministry that could use your help. Check in on the elderly neighbor.
It doesn't have to be a big thing or require a lot of money. It just takes some time and willingness to engage with those around us who might be hurting a bit more right now.
