One day God interrupted this remarkable man’s life and ministry. The Lord announced to the prophet He would take the life of his wife, and Ezekiel would be forbidden to mourn her loss. In a rare word from the servant of God, he tells us what happened and how he responded. “So I spoke to the people in the morning,” Ezekiel says, “and in the evening my wife died. And in the morning I did as I was commanded.”
God, being God, has the right to interrupt our lives for His own purposes. When he does, may each of us respond with the same trusting obedience, and may we also be able to say. “I did as I was commanded.”
Take Away: God, being God, has the right to interrupt our lives for His own purposes.
