As I rocked him, physically weary and emotionally drained, I suddenly panicked at the realization of being responsible for this child for the next two decades. I grew up with many men in my life from my mother’s numerous relationships, but I never had a father. Now, here I was with this precious, helpless infant and I had no idea how I was going to be his father.
I did the only thing I knew to do; I drew on the only assistance available – I prayed to my Heavenly Father. Crying as much as my baby boy, I asked the Lord for help getting him to sleep, and for the wisdom and courage to raise him. My Father faithfully answered both of my desperate requests.
