Years of lawlessness and corruption by our political, business, and even Church leaders, has produced a culture of coldness, a nation of uncaring, selfish and self-absorbed people...a rude and disorderly mob, a population without true love for one another.
Christians have always known that love negates the need for law. Maybe now we are beginning to see what Jesus told us in the Gospel of Matthew would come at the end of days; that because of lawlessness the hearts of many will grow cold. Apparently, both love and law are required to live abundantly in a sinful, fallen world.
Take Away: When leaders don’t enforce the law, their lack of action implies that law and order doesn't matter, and ultimately the people stop considering the needs and rights of their neighbors.
