Emotional growth is equally important in order that a youth rise above whatever circumstances brought them to us. Being out in the country, like we are at Patrick Henry, gives our youth a rare opportunity for even stronger growth. While things tend to be slower, there is space in the countryside to grow out of pain and trouble.
Our youth can walk down a country road and think about consequences. They can go fishing and feel the victory of the catch. They can groom a horse and receive unconditional love. They can plant a garden and learn what hard work can produce. Yes, we are a ways out but that’s not a bad thing when it comes to building character, restoring confidence, and raising healthy children.
Take Away: While things tend to be slower, there is space in the countryside to grow out of pain and trouble.
