Through our Annual Awards Ceremony, we have the opportunity to celebrate the positive ways in which our youth face and handle their challenges.
It always amazing to me to see the very youth that you feared would never rise above his or her challenges is the child that is recognized with the Outstanding Citizenship Award. To have the Greatest Effort Award given to a teenager that at one point would make absolutely no effort. To see the Leadership Award given to a young man that once was homeless and eating from trash cans.
It’s true that challenges are a part of life. But it’s also true that challenges can make us better people.
Take Away: It’s true that challenges are a part of life. But it’s also true that challenges can make us better people.
