My enthusiasm was bolstered by the realization that I would likely see 2001 and the birth of a new century. Despite my painful past, I would embark on my own odyssey into unknown future, equipped with little more than my novice faith in Jesus. It was exhilarating.
Then before I knew it, 2001 arrived. It was not the future I’d envisioned. 911 shattered that. Now it seems like I’m reliving the 1960’s and 1970’s again; this time without youthful optimism, but blessed with a mature faith, and faith, I’ve discovered, is much better than optimism.
Take Away: Faith is better than optimism.
