From the atmospheric heights of hope’s audacity,
to the gutter trash of bitter partisan rhetoric;
O’ how low the northern star has fallen.
The promise of change, just more of the same;
a tribute to envy’s ugly bombasticy.
Corporations too big to fail and too small to care,
pay Jizyah to Fairness, that foreign goddess of sloth.
Public servants, (all hail our new masters),
yield the power of *alphabet minions,
compelling both the one and the ninety-nine to share.
British soldier’s coats and communist flags wore red
but tyranny comes from every angle and color.
“Liberty or death,” once the cry of principled men,
now greed and avarice “seize the day,”
while Common Sense and Rule of Law lay dead.
When lawlessness is unbridled and evil highly esteemed,
cowards rule and bullies are empowered.
From malice, the China Shop Bull was hired.
When debt is king and no good deed goes unpunished,
the morally bankrupt lead and only the fool is pleased.
Every animal in the zoo wears this banner of shame,
for Manifest Destiny is no more and The Dream be dammed.
O’ how high the incompetent have risen;
From purple mountains majesty to The District’s worthless halls,
we pray the day Columbia asks, “pride what is thy name?”
